I’ve been rewatching The Rachel Zoe Project from the beginning. If you can get past the heavily produced “conflicts” it’s a nostalgic little time capsule of how we all dressed in the early 2010s (not well). Subsequently, it has made me look at my own wardrobe with laser focus and ignore ephemeral trends in favor of simply wearing clothes that I love—my brain’s natural response to watching Zoe relentlessly dress Liv Tyler et al. in leggings, cropped metallic leather jackets, and gladiator sandals, I’m sure.

This month, I’ve inducted two outfits (see 1 & 2) into my go-to rotation of reliable combinations while simultaneously procuring a pair of vintage Prada mules adorned with metallic leather paillettes and knee-length poplin shorts in one of Brooke Callahan’s new colorways (bud!). I contain multitudes. More on those purchases in the next letter. In the meantime, here are six simple spring outfits I plan on wearing this month.

OUTFIT 1

Where I’d wear it: A go-to for meetings lately.

• Havaianas slim flip flops

Where I’d wear it: I wear this at least three times a week for school drop-off, errands, and anything else that requires me to leave my house for a non-special occasion.

OUTFIT 3

• Unbranded white poplin tank via Maj Kiosk

• Maryam Nassir Zadeh dance pants

’s brooch newsletter, I attached a pin to the back of a denim rosette necklace (via Maj Kiosk) to repurpose it after its leather strap snapped. I’d wear this to dinner, a nighttime work event, etc.

• MNZ ‘pablo’ belt

• Vintage Levi 501s via Holdwest: I was missing my brown Levi’s corduroys, so I recently dug around to pull out this neglected pair of brown jeans—similar here (34x32) and here (31x33)!

• Vintage Bottega Veneta intrecciato large hobo

Where I’d wear it: Anywhere!

OUTFIT 5

• Martine Rose striped wrap shirt (no longer available)

• Brooke Callahan tie pants

• Havaianas slim flip flops

Where I’d wear it: The farmers market.

OUTFIT 6

Where I’d wear it: I wore this to a casual work event recently and plan on repeating the outfit again and again.
