We booked a rental in Hudson, NY, at the last minute to wait out the final weeks of construction at home. I’ve been living out of suitcases since late July and cycling through the same tightly edited wardrobe for the past few weeks, which was edited down further for a week upstate—taking into account a list of activities and restaurants I had saved in my Notes app (included at the end if you’re curious) and cooler temps. Despite browsing half a dozen vintage shops, I only picked up one item in Hudson, a washed silk slip skirt by a local designer. Here’s everything I packed, along with a few outfits and meals I managed to snap photos of while upstate.

Where I wore it: Lunch at Kitty’s for a rotisserie chicken plate, followed by a drive to Churchtown Dairy to walk the gardens and shop their farm store. I swapped my jelly sandals for Manolo Blahnik kitten heels in the evening to drive to Pine Plains for a god-tier dinner at Stissing House—which, if I’m being honest, was half the reason for coming to Hudson. We ordered nearly all of their snacks (pickles, ham, chips, Jake’s gouda), a peak-summer tomato, peach & chevre salad, and roasted summer vegetables with wild rice & tomatoes. We ended the meal with a slice of coconut cake and a classic ice cream sundae. Frances McDormand and Joel Coen were dining next to us. The whole experience was perfect.

Sabina ‘danny’ stripe slip skirt: I picked this up on our first day in town at NINA Z on Warren Street. I was torn between the pink and a yellow striped version—I let my 4-year-old decide and think she made the right choice.

Where I wore it: To sip a Garden Lemonade (tomato water, dill oil, sea salt) at The Maker, followed by a bowl of bolognese and olive oil cake with fresh cheese and stewed raspberries outside at feast & floret.

Where I wore it: For a warmer day, walking the main drag of Hudson after picking up pistachio-almond croissants and a loaf of country bread from Mel the Bakery.

Where I wore it: To the Copake-Hillsdale Farmers Market for apple cider donuts and a quart of lemonade, a pitstop at Sideshow Vintage on the drive back, a ferry ride on the Hudson River followed by a BLT under the trees at Quinnies.
