February Outfits II
Pairing dark brown corduroys with butter yellow & baby blue (and links to vintage items).
As I cobble together a wishlist for spring (Tory, babe, when do the pierced slingbacks get restocked?) and wistfully bookmark tempting vintage items from around the internet, I’m focusing on new ways to make the most of the pieces in my closet. I don’t feel any holes when getting dressed lately, so I’m rolling with it and focusing on items that I can add in to spice things up for spring.
Currently in the throws of an East Coast winter, I find myself reaching for a pair of corduroy trousers that feel like sweats and pairing them with butter yellow (with black leather boots) or baby blue (with silver leather flats). And, of course, I’m continuing to get the cost-per-wear down on my recent merino sweater purchase. Here’s what I’m wearing this month…
OUTFIT 1
Levi’s baggy dad corduroy pants: If you’re on the fence, get them—these are the most comfortable pants I own, and the perfect shade of deep brown.

Where I’d wear it: I plan to wear this to dinner with friends next week.

OUTFIT 4
extreme cashmere n°292 ‘america’ t-shirt: I bought this a few months ago but it’s taken me a while to figure out how to incorporate the color into my wardrobe. For now, I’m enjoying it paired with my MNZ dance pants.
Maryam Nassir Zadeh dance pants: Here’s a similar available via SSENSE.
Maryam Nassir Zadeh ‘Olympia’ wedge
Vintage 90s Banana Republic bag via eBay
Where I’d wear it: I wore this to dinner the other night when the temperature shot up to 75 degrees, and intend to wear it again soon.
OUTFIT 5
Levi’s baggy dad corduroy pants
Nu Swim ‘Fantasy’ Merino Sweater
Maryam Nassir Zadeh Pablo belt
Gucci horsebit loafers via The RealReal
Vintage 90s Banana Republic bag via eBay
Where I’d wear it: I finally watched Scenes From a Marriage last month and within the first 5 minutes, I wrote this outfit down in my Notes app.
OUTFIT 6
Dries Van Noten indigo jeans
Simon Miller RIB ‘Devola’ top: I was a big fan of the RIB line when it came out years ago and lived in these postpartum (which feels like a pant we should include in the High Sport-adjacent discourse). While the brand no longer makes this particular top (or any RIB pieces, really), there are several available via resale sites—here’s a S and L.
E Porselli ballet flats via Vestiaire Collective
Vintage Bottega Veneta intrecciato large hobo
Where I’d wear it: Anywhere! Meetings, errands, etc.
