This month, I’m prioritizing comfort while leaning into a tried-and-true outfit trick, monochromatic outfits. Whenever I feel a lack of inspiration, I stick to the same colors when getting dressed and will instantly feel put-together. It’s not a new concept by any means, but it’s reliable. Here’s what I’m wearing in February…
OUTFIT 1 (left)
The Link By K ‘elton’ sweatshirt: The Line By K currently makes my favorite basics, this sweatshirt included.
Djerf Avenue ‘favorite pants’
Gucci horsebit suede loafers via The Real Real: TRR has a seemingly endless supply of horsebit loafers in every color and hardware combination imaginable; here are a few good options, US 7.5 (the same pair I have), US 5, and this US 9 pair in cream patent leather (!). A saved search and some patience should turn up your perfect pair.
Vintage black leather bag via eBay: A similar option (you can’t tell me this isn’t BY FAR).
Where I’d wear it: I would wear it to a meeting, or to run around all day in. It feels like a refined sweatsuit, to be honest.
OUTFIT 2 (right)
The Line by K ‘becks’ short sleeve top
FEEL studios black genuine jean
Maryam Nassir Zadeh Pablo belt
Nicole Saldana ‘Fabiana’ mary-jane
Vintage black leather trench via Maj Kiosk
Vintage Chanel patchwork tote: Fully aware this is a huge splurge, I did find one available via eBay in excellent condition.
Where I’d wear it: Historically, I love a Matrix outfit; this is just the current iteration. I’d wear this nearly anywhere.
OUTFIT 3 (left)
Unif ‘mocha’ skirt: A very good vintage-looking-but-not-vintage skirt. I also love this actually vintage Prada plaid skirt.
The Line by K ‘becks’ long sleeve top
Manolo Blahnik black ‘suede sock boots’ via The Real Real: These are one of my earliest TRR purchases, I’ve had them repaired twice, and they continue to last year after year. I found a few on TRR in US 9.5, US 6.5, and US 8 in grey.
Vintage black leather bag via eBay
Paloma Wool blue cashmere hair ribbon
Where I’d wear it: A sweet little look for a dinner date.
OUTFIT 4 (right)
Gil Rodriguez tube convertible dress
Extreme Cashmere Jim cardigan
Nicole Saldana ‘Fabiana’ mary-jane with socks
Vintage black leather bag via eBay
Where I’d wear it: For walks, errands, lunch, etc., this is in an incredibly comfortable outfit.
OUTFIT 5 (left)
The Line by K ‘becks’ long sleeve top
FEEL studios white genuine jean: Worn two sizes too big.
Maryam Nassir Zadeh Pablo belt
Nicole Saldana ‘Fabiana’ mary-jane
Vintage black leather bag via eBay
Where I’d wear it: I’ll add my black leather trench and wear this virtually anywhere, as long as my daughter isn’t present—I love an all-white outfit but would never try one around a toddler.
OUTFIT 6 (right)
Outdoor Voices snap jacket: If you’ve seen me at all this winter I am probably wearing this fleece jacket and that is the god’s honest truth. My biggest regret is not getting it in brown too.
Djerf Avenue ‘favorite pants’
Brown Adidas via Depop: I wrote about these in an earlier newsletter, but this seller has a great inventory of Samba-adjacent shoes. This pair looks very similar to mine, and I love this burgundy pair.
Vintage Salvatore Ferragamo leather bag via TRR: Sourced from one of
vintage link round-ups.
Where I’d wear it: I like subbing in grey trousers for sweatpants to make a loungey look feel more put together. An excellent coffee run or errand look.
My complete February Outfits list is below. It’s abbreviated this month because I’m working on a newsletter of vacation outfits… coming to your inboxes soon. Thank you for being here!! 💌
